This was actually an art project for my last high school art class.
BEST-ART-PROJECT-EVER.
The assingment was make a life sized card-board cut out of SOMEONE. After much debate, my teacher decided we could do cartoon characters as long as we at least tried to make them look human...Which would explain somewhat why Link's face is off.. Off from his cartoon face and kinda off from what would pass as a decent drawing of a "realistic" face.. Whatever, it works.
It was done on..some old cardboard brought in by a friend of mine whos dad ships shower doors... Glad she thought of that, cause otherwise we wouldve been working on filthy papasan coushin boxes from the back room of ShopKo.. Which would not of had the same effect.
THE PAINT I used was... Acrylic?.. I think.. Acrylic and cheap cheap tempra wen the Acrylic was in short supply.
OVER ALL this piece took a month and a week (keping in mind I had five hours a week to work on it..but I came in for some extra time here and there.. but still...). That shoots it up to the very top of my "Latest Assingments Turned In" list.It was AT LEAST 4 weeks over due.
Yes. The epitome of nerd-dom. I painted a life sized Link for a school project..... at least I got to meet other nerds through it... and at least I got to get "yelled at" by "the cool kids"... Which was funny cause you can almost TASTE the overall IQ of high school students plummeting.
Good story, eh? Im gonna put a better lit/not as encompassing picture of this in my "scraps".. Just in case you photo types find the lighting so disgusting... Maybe the scrap version will only evoke dry heaves.
On my, almost forgot. Just for the sake of reference, Link is approximately 5 feet and 6 inches tall.
AH! ... AH! .... I don't know what to say but "AH!!"!
THAT IS AWESOME!!! I'VE NEVER SEEN SHADING LIKE THAT ON ANY PICTURE OF LINK BEFORE EVER-- EVER!!!! I REALLY wish I had one because that is just... TOO COOL!!!

~"AHAHA! LOOK! It is RED, just like Kenshin's HAIR! And that there, that is PINK, just like Kenshin's SHIRT!" "And WHEN do you know when you're too obsessed?"~

I really wish I could take FULL credit for the shading but of course I was following a "Template" for the entire piece. (If you've seen the early official art..Yep, its that one..)
But!! I completely re-drew the art myself instead of projecting the artwork directly onto the cardboard... Cause thats like tracing..Probably wouldve saved time though.. the only noticable difference at a glance was the angle of his sword.. Oh well.

The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Hello there! This news article is the result of a thumb share thread I posted few days ago on the dA forum along with pictures from my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.
